From Blogger to Wordpress to Posterous

Hey folks,

Today marks yet another change in my blogging trace. I started blogging in 2004 on Blogger. But, to be very honest, I had no idea what it even meant during that time. It was later in 2005 did I realise the purpose and power of a blog. But then, I couldn't really get myself to blog pretty frequently.

One more year passed by and someone told me about this amazing new blogging tool called Wordpress. Naturally, I was tempted to try it and noticed that it was far more professional and sleek looking when compared to Blogger. I switched my blog to Wordpress immediately. It was much later that I realised that Blogger actually offered more customization whereas Wordpress charged for almost everything other than just blogging.

But then, I didn't really have the penchant to write my own theme for my blog and show off et al. So, I quietly stayed on Wordpress for over 2 years.

I had gone down to the NASSCOM Product Conclave 2 months back and happened to meet Guy Kawasaki there. He introduced Posterous to me (and a lot of other people) during a Tweetup in the evening and it kinda impressed me. However, I forgot about it completely and got back to normal life.

One vetti day, I decided to check it out and that day happens to be today. I'm completely impressed by the ease of use that Posterous offers as compared to Blogger and Wordpress. Autoposting to other Social Media is another major plus. Email posting is also a big plus.

So, here it is. I'm moving to Posterous now. However, my posts will be relayed on my Wordpress blog. So, I'm not ditching it for Posterous. I'm just using Posterous additionally.

Yours Skeptically,
